KYLE MOUNTAIN

HEAD COACH/DIRECTOR, HOCKEY OPERATIONS

Kyle Mountain was named the Assistant Coach of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits prior to the 2023-24 season. The role is Mountain’s first in the professional ranks after spending six seasons as Head Coach at Neumann University.

While at the helm of the Knights, Mountain led Neumann to 40 combined wins and appearances in the the United Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament in four of the six seasons. Before taking charge, Mountain served as the Knights’ assistant coach under then-Head Coach Matt Tendler.

A native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Mountain played four seasons of NCAA-DI hockey, three of which were with the University of Vermont Catamounts and his final season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. In 17 appearances for the Mavericks during the 2014-15 season, Mountain helped the the team reach the school’s first and only Frozen Four appearance.

ALEC MUISE

Head Athletic Trainer

Alec Muise begins his first season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits after serving as the Athletic Trainer for the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators for the 2022-23 season.

Prior to his time in Atlanta, Muise spent a season as an assistant athlectic trainer with the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds. The Beverly, Massachusetts native acquired a Bachelors in Allied Health Science from Plymouth State University before earning his Master’s in Athletic Training from PSU.

A.J. SMITH

Head Equipment Manager

A.J. Smith enters his first season with the Swamp Rabbits after serving as the Head Equipment Manager for the Mount Royal University Cougars since 2019. He joined the Cougars after coaching in the Calgary Royals Athletic Association for three seasons.

In December 2021, Smith, along with five players, Head Coach Bert Gilling, and Director of Hockey Operations Nathan Higgins, represented MRU and U SPORTS as the Equipment Manager for the U SPORTS All-Star team, who played against the Canadian World Junior team prior to the 2022 World Junior Championships in Edmonton and Red Deer.
