LA KINGS ROSTER/STATS

Last week, the Los Angeles Kings opened the week’s slate on the road in Winnipeg on Tuesday night. Looking to regroup from last week, Los Angeles scored six goals, overcoming a two-goal deficit to come away victorious against a solid Winnipeg squad. Anze Kopitar was the star of the night, netting four goals in the game. Adrian Kempe lit the lamp in shootout to give LA their first win of the week.

On Thursday night, the Kings took on the Montreal Canadians on home ice, looking to win their second straight. After falling behind in the first period, LA went on to score three unanswered goals to capture a 3-2 victory. Anze Kopitar lit the lamp in the second straight night to lead LA past Montreal.

To begin the weekend, LA stayed on home ice and took on the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. Trading goals throughout the contest, the score would be tied 2-2 early in the final twenty minutes. Gabriel Vilardi scored the go-ahead goal on the power-play with just 3:03 remaining in regulation. Kevin Fiala iced the game in the closing minutes, netting the empty-netter to give LA their third consecutive win of the week.

On Monday night, LA faced the Washington Capitals, looking to extend their winning streak to close out the week. After a scoreless first period, LA outscored Washington 2-1 in the middle frame to take the advantage. Alex Ovechkin tied the game just minutes into the third, but it would not be enough for Washington, as LA went on to score two goals in the closing minutes to extend their winning streak to four games.

After going 4-0 on the week, LA is now tied with Vegas in the Pacific standings, both having 82 points. Seattle is not too far behind, as they currently have 80 points. LA will head to Colorado on Thursday to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champions, as they look to grasp the top spot in the standings.

ONTARIO REIGN ROSTER/STATS

The Ontario Reign opened last week's slate at home against the Abbotsford Canucks on Wednesday night. After falling behind in the opening period, Ontario scored two second-period goals to regain the lead going into the final frame. Abbotsford went on to score twice in the third period, giving them the 3-2 victory.

On Friday night, the Reign would look to get back on track against the San Jose Barracuda. Ontario fell behind in the second period, as the Barracuda netted three goals. Tyler Madden scored the only two goals in the contest for Ontario, but it would not be enough, as Reign fell 4-2.

Looking to end their losing streak, Ontario stayed on the road Saturday night, traveling to Bakersfield to take on the Condors. Ontario erased an early deficit, netting three power-play goals in the high-scoring affair. TJ Tynan recorded a game-high three points with a goal and two assists. Seth Griffith gave the Condors the overtime win in the final regular season matchup between the two teams.

Ontario will play all three games this week on home ice, looking to put last week's skid behind them as the season nears the finish line. The Reign face-off against San Jose tonight and will attempt to avenge Friday night’s loss to the Barracuda. San Jose is currently 22-27-1-4, which places them in 9th in the Pacific Division standings.
