SUNDAY SHOWTIME:
The Swamp Rabbits defeated the Atlanta gladiators 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. Diego Cuglietta struck first, scoring a power play goal at 3:02 in the first. Atlanta would take the lead in the second period on the back of goals by Kameron Kielly and Mike Pelech. Greenville would not stay down, coming back to win it in the third period. Liam Pecararo would tie the game for the Bits at 8:24 of the third, followed by Freddy Letourneau. Letourneau scored a short handed goal with 3:21 to play, his second of the season, and third games in a row with a point.
WEEKDAY WARRIORS:
The Swamp Rabbits travel to Jacksonville to take on the Icemen on Wednesday night. Jacksonville is 12-8-1-1, sitting in second place in the South. Icemen have outscored their opponents 66-59 this season, averaging three goals per game. The Jacksonville PK unit has been solid, shutting down 82% of power plays; while only converting on 16% of their own chances. Diego Cuglietta has been nothing but stunning since he joined the Swamp Rabbits in early November. Cuglietta lost a six game point streak on 12/5, in which he had six goals and five assists. Cuglietta immediately started on a new streak and has three goals and three assists in the last four games.
