GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits were held off the board in the third period as the Jacksonville Icemen escaped Bon Secours Wellness Arena with a 2-1 victory during the Swamp Rabbits’ home opener on Friday night.
Jacksonville opened the scoring in the first period after a stretch pass resulted in a shooting chance for Craig Martin who capitalized on the chance at the 5:29 mark. Jacksonville led the shots 13-7 after the opening frame.
Moments into the second, the Swamp Rabbits equalized with a power play goal from the point by Alec Rauhauser, his first of the season, at the 1:29 mark of the second.
